Problem
Our client presented us with the challenging task of restoring their honed marble floor, which had endured years of neglect and misuse, leading to unsightly stains. Marble, known for its elegance, is a softer and highly porous stone, rendering it susceptible to both scratching and staining. Compounding the issue, several tiles had sustained damage and required either repair or replacement. The uneven installation of the tile floor presented an additional layer of complexity to this challenging restoration project, due to the lippage.
Solution
Our restoration commenced with a thorough removal of debris and grime from the floor. The damaged tiles were taken out, subjected to either repair or complete replacement, and the substrate was completely removed and cleaned. Subsequently, the tiles were carefully reset and grouted to ensure a seamless finish. The entire floor then underwent a meticulous honing process, eliminating deep scratches and stubborn stains while avoiding the creation of depressions in the marble's surface. Once the marble had regained its original pristine white clarity, a penetrating sealer was applied to fortify its defense against future staining, ensuring the lasting beauty and durability of the floor.
