Public restrooms frequently endure a level of wear and tear that surpasses what is typically observed in private bathrooms. These facilities experience elevated foot traffic, increased damage, and more frequent cleaning. Unfortunately, the cleaning practices employed in these public restrooms involved the use of acid-based cleaners, resulting in significant degradation of the grout. Adding to the problem, the men's restrooms exhibited substantial damage near the urinals due to the accumulation of uric acid deposits over time. While the women's restrooms had marginally better grout conditions, they too had not received proper maintenance for years.
To address the issues in these restrooms, the first step was to thoroughly clean and sanitize the floors and base tiles, removing all dirt, grime, and urine. This created a sterile and clean working environment. The subsequent crucial step involved the removal of the compromised existing grout. It is essential to undertake this process to ensure the longevity of the new grout. After removal, epoxy grout was applied, allowed to cure, and then sealed. This system guarantees a lasting solution, with a lifespan of over 5 years in these restrooms.
